The Octapod supports a number of projects, community groups and individuals by providing an administrative base and important resources including a large meeting space, web hosting, a zine library and project management advice.
In 1998 Octapod was involved in the publishing of 'New Pollution' zine anthology as part of the Noise festival and in this year Octopod's zine library was created. It now numbers a few thousand zines.

ON SALE: A TOURIST'S HANDBOOK/SURVIVAL GUIDE TO MY HOMETOWN [Melbourne] 2008 A4 photocopied zine by Interesting Dan providing a definitive illustrated guide to regional Victorian city, Sale. Written in appallingly scrawled handwriting that articulates a delightfully sardonic humour, this zine starts with how to actually leave Sale (after the formalities of an author’s bio and introduction). Including home photos of local landmarks throughout, the zine includes a brief history of Sale and its founding father, Angus McMillan’s contribution to Australian life, a diagram showing the potential outcome of a western style duel on the main street of Sale, the seedy truth behind the introduction of a chain women’s fashion store in the town, and a highly entertaining section devoted to Sale’s nightlife, including one of the worst nightclubs in Victoria as voted by Triple J, and other unqualified urban myths. Comes complete with an apology page and crudely drawn arse hole.

OZ MAGAZINE Entry in development.
